The Packers ended up pulling off the win last night with a little help from some bad calls from officials. It’s always funny when this happen because one fanbase is really mad while the other just sort of shrugs and is happy for the win. We’ve seen this go the other way (Packers-Seahawks comes to mind) and the same people feel the exact opposite way. Just a funny look at fandom that you only really notice when you’re not right in it.
In bigger news, the Washington Nationals are now just one win away from the World Series. They had a huge win last night behind an outstanding performance from Stephen Strasburg. This team has really been defined by their playoff failures over the past eight seasons, but now are on the verge of the biggest win in franchise history. They have a chance to clinch the sweep tonight at home with Patrick Corbin on the mound.
We also see the Yankees and Astros series continuing with the teams heading to New York tied 1-1. Gerrit Cole gets the start here for the Yankees and he has been absolutely dominant in the playoffs thus far. The Yankees will send Luis Severino who has great stuff, but his last start against the Twins was very nearly disastrous and the Yanks will need a better performance here.

MLB Betting Tips:
Houston Astros at New York Yankees: Gerrit Cole has been amazing in his two starts for the Astros, but this will be his toughest test yet. Not only is he facing one of the best offenses in the game, but the Yankees ballpark is very short in the corners and homer prone. That said, Cole hasn’t taken the loss since May 22, where he has 251 strikeouts, 34 walks and a 1.66 ERA over 24 starts. Just dominating teams and I wouldn’t be surprised to see more of that here.
The Yankees bullpen has been similarly dominant in these playoffs and as long as Luis Severino can give them four solid innings here, they should be great once again here. It took until the 11th inning for the Astros to breakthrough in game two and the home field should be a help here.
The Astros are favored here, but the Yankees bullpen is scaring me off taking them. I think this will be a low scoring game with Cole doing his thing and the Yankees bullpen keeping up.

St. Louis Cardinals at Washington Nationals: With all due respect to the Cardinals, the Nationals are going to the World Series.
Patrick Corbin had a 3.25 ERA/3.49 FIP on the season and he’s looking like a strong pick here. The Cardinals offense has been so stagnant in this series and they were a below average offense on the season. They are better against lefties, but Corbin is a good one. He has some good strikeout numbers and the Cards offense is just so meh right now.
The Cards will send Dakota Hudson to the mound who had a 3.35 ERA/4.93 FIP on the year. He’s been luckier than good and luck hasn’t been on the Cardinals side during these playoffs. The Nats are looking like a team of destiny right now and I see them completing the sweep tonight.
