Yesterday we saw an all-time great performance by Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers as he finished the game with a perfect QB rating. His stats were straight out of a video game with 25-for-31 passing for 429 yards, five passing touchdowns, and one rushing touchdowns. Yes, he was against the Raiders, but these numbers are just outstanding.
His performance makes him the first QB to pass for 5 touchdowns and run for 1 touchdown since 1991. This is a great sign that the Packers made the right move last year in switching their coach. This offensive system is really starting to mesh with Aaron Rodgers and he is clearly becoming more comfortable with it. It’s even crazier when you realize that he was without top receiver Davante Adams, and two other receivers were on a snap restriction. What an amazing performance.
Tonight, we could be seeing another blowout performance as the undefeated Patriots take on the 1-4 New York Jets. These two teams are about as far away from each other in talent level as any two teams in the league. The Patriots are looking tough right now and they enter tonight as a -9.5 favorite.
NFL Betting Tips:
New England Patriots at New York Jets: This is a game that just seems like a complete blowout. I am honestly not sure why the line on this one isn’t two touchdowns. If we look strictly at the average score per game of these two teams, taking all of their scores adding them together and dividing by the number of games, this is what we get:
Patriots: 31.7 – 8.0
Jets: 12.6 – 24.6
How is that line not two touchdowns? The Patriots are far better than the Jets in every way.
Yes, the Jets have Sam Darnold back and he’s looked decent. He’s still a rookie facing a Bill Belichick defense that is killing everyone right now. Darnold could have a great career, but tonight is going to be rough for him.
Darnold or no Darnold, the Jets offense has been absolutely terrible and the Patriots defense is smothering. This is not rocket science. Sometimes it is really this simple. The Patriots are going to dominate tonight and win by 2+ touchdowns.
NHL Betting Tips:
Las Vegas Knights at Philadelphia Flyers: The Flyers are not having a great start to the season and are really struggling to start here. Philly has dropped four straight games and just got spanked by the Dallas Stars, who are just 2-7-1 on the season and averaging barely two goals per game. Things are not looking good for the Flyers right now as Giroux, van Riemsdyk and Gostisbehere are all yet to score a goal this season.
The Knights have won two in a row and have played up to expectations early. They were expected to be one of the better teams in the league and they have lived up to that billing early. This is a game that on paper they absolutely should win and I think that they will do so here.
