Today we will cover both the NHL games taking place on August 5th, and of course the golf. We have the US PGA Championship taking place.
We almost had a massive cash last week in the golf with the 125/1 Chez Reavie. We bet him to win / place in the top 5 and boy was it close.
Reavie was 1 stroke out of the top 5 ending up in 6th place which was brutal as that would have been a huge cash.
Oh well it is what it is. Let’s get on with the tips for this week:
PGA Championship 2020 Picks:
All bets are to win and two place. I am doing my bets at Bet365 which are doing Top 8 for E/W rules this week so it is to place and Top 8. Split a unit over those or do E/W betting for the full unit.
1u on Adam Scott at 60/1. Anyone can putt here so that should benefit Scott and his ball striking should be a big plus at this course. Might be a bit rusty due to his break however he may be fresh too. Worth a bet.
1u on Chez Reavie at 100/1. Reavie almost delivered last week. Now one concern of course is that after someone does so well like that they slip however Reavie continues to be fantastic and it’s worth betting him post break until he stops playing well.
1u on Cameron Champ at 150/1. Driving is what should rule here and so gotta go with Champ. He’s struggling a little bit but this course might benefit him and get his game back going. He should suit in well with the weather too.
1u on Bryson DeChambeau at 16/1. Poor Bryson. Everyone has seemingly written him off this week. Not me. Could be a good course for him to get the confidence going.
1u on Bubba Watson at 100/1. This was one I went back and forth on. Hasn’t been playing well but I think there is just enough value there.
Finally two bonus picks exclusive to SBT:
Lucas Glover at 200/1 and Paul Casey at 100/1. Both fit in well with the supposed metrics for this course. Both long shots but I like their odds and are worth a play.
NHL August 5th, 2020 Bets:
I didn’t have the chance to post yesterday here but went 4-1 with my NHL Tips over at BetNHL.ca. Hope to continue that today.
Islanders/Panthers Over 5. 2u at -123 odds. Have to think the Panthers offense get going today. They absolutely need to. Islanders will have the confidence of coming from behind so could be a high scoring one.
Predators/Coyotes Over 5. 1u at -130 odds. I see no reason not to back this again. Had this yesterday and it was bloody close however I feel decent enough about it.
Canadiens or Draw. 1u at -120. This bet is that the Penguins won’t win by the end of the 3rd period meaning as long as Habs win or it goes to OT, the bet cashes.
Oilers/Blackhawks Over 6.5. 2u at -101. Why not. Keep hammering this until they tell us not to.
