Premier League Darts 2014 Week Ten Premium Picks
It’s that time of the week again, and we’re off to Sheffield for the Premier League Darts Week Ten. Tonight, two players with double duty – Peter Wright and Raymond van Barneveld, as the powers that be in the PDC and Sky make up for lost matches thanks to ‘relegation’ by making players play twice. So, Peter Wright starts off the night against Gary Anderson, before returning to face Barney in the last match of the evening. Barney starts his night off against Dave Chisnall, before he faces Snakebite. In the night’s other matches, Phil Taylor will be looking to continue his return to form in the Premier League (and push for playoffs spot) when he takes on his old sparring partner Adrian Lewis. And Michael van Gerwen looks to lead the way as he faces Robert Thornton. So it’s a full night of darts, once more, and the push for the playoff places starts now.
Last week we saw Wes Newton eliminated, to go with Simon Whitlock’s elimination in Week Eight. Newton’s fate was sealed after losing 7-5 to Chisnall in what turned out to be a thrilling contest. Judgement Night’s first match saw Peter Wright capitalise on crucial missed doubles from Gary Anderson, with Snakebite getting the win 7-5. Simon Whitlock produced a performance that was too little too late as he averaged a shade over 100 in a draw with Michael van Gerwen. That draw was followed by another, as Adrian Lewis and Raymond van Barneveld effectively cancelled each other out. And Phil Taylor continued his good form with a 7-4 win over Robert Thornton, with The Power averaging 102.48 in his triumph.
