We had a small win last week in the PGA Tour, with Kevin Na cashing for us at the CIMB Classic:
Na came in tied for 3rd just two off the lead after a -5 4th round. So we made miniscule profit on that one. We’ll take it.
Justin Thomas was the winner of that one and it was quite a fine tournament. Adam Scotts -9 last round was thrilling and it was a pity that he couldn’t manage to win it or at least take it to a playoff.
This week it’s the Sanderson Farms Championship. It’s at a relatively new course – the Country Club of jackson, where it was first held here last year. Of course most people are focused on the WGC this week. Nick Taylor was able to get the win last year.
Let’s check out the odds:
Sanderson Farms Championship 2015 Betting Odds:
- Jason Bohn: 11/1
- Patrick Rodgers: 11/1
- Patton Kizzire: 18/1
- William McGirt: 18/1
- Will Wilcox: 25/1
- Kevin Streelman: 28/1
- Graham Delaet: 28/1
- Brendon Todd: 30/1
- Jamie Lovemark: 30/1
- Ollie Schneiderjans: 35/1
Sanderson Farms Betting Tip #1: Jason Bohn
It’s not exactly the most attractive crop, but Jason Bohn is clearly the cream of it. 2nd place last year here and the last 3 years he has had top 10 finishes in the Sanderson Farms. Of the golfers participating in this tournament, Jason Bohn is probably the most on form. He’s coming off that exceptional 2nd place at the Shriners, and prior to that was a 3rd place at the Frys.com Open.
can Bohn win this one? We think there’s a possibility. We don’t think the E/W odds are attractive with Bohn at a whopping 11/1 so we’re going to be backing him to win only, and we’re only going to place a quarter unit on it.
Sanderson Farms Betting Tip #2: Nick Taylor
Nick Taylor is defending his title and while he’s not the 400/1 he was last year – he’s still a relatively high 55/1.
Taylor hasn’t looked in form but it’s not like he came into last years tournament bursting with form either. Taylor looked excellent all throughout the course last year and it could just be one of those courses where a golfer feels like a magician.
We’ll be hoping Taylor can pull off a magic trick and turn our quarter unit into 16.5 full units.
Sanderson Farms Betting Tip #3: Boo Weekley
When it comes to form, Boo Weekley doesn’t really come to mind. But you know – people said the same thing last year and he snatched a second place finish out of nowhere. That’s the way Boo is. Last season he had 3 cuts in a row, a 75th place then came 3rd at the Zurich Classic.
Who knows – maybe Weekley can pull it out again. We’ll use a third and final quarter unit on Weekley to steal the win.
