Well it was pretty much a break-even week last week in the golf. We got a refund on Brendan Steele with his place in the Barracuda Championship after that one was a dead heat – and we also got this nice little win with Austin Ertnst in the Cambia Portland Classic:
What a tournament that was and major props to Brooke. She ended up just walking away with it and no-one could come close to her after that excellent Day 1. Although she must have enjoyed seeing Pettersen struggle after that 64 round.
This week I’ll be covering the U.S. Womens Open in the LPGA and the Scottish Open. I looked into the Dick’s Sporting Goods but I didn’t see anything I liked there.
Scottish Open Betting Tips:
This tournament takes place at the Castle Stuart Golf Links – where it also took place in 2013, 2012 and 2011 so for course data history those are the years to look at.
One thing I hate is backing someone who has won recently as it’s hard to see the constant form continue but I’ve got to wager a half unit on Henrik Stenson to win. Stenson is coming off that win just last week in the BMW International Open and while it’s hard to see him getting back to back wins he has did extremely well at this course in the past. He might be that rare person who can do back to back wins so I’ll back him because with his form it’s really hard not to.
I’m going to place a small quarter unit bet on Raphael Jacquelin to win and E/W. He’s performed well here before and his form is interesting. He was actually killing it at the Nordea Masters and BMW International Open however looked very poor at the French Open. Not sure if he can bounce back here or not but I’m willing to give it a shot.
Those are the only bets I have for the Scottish Open.
U.S. Womens Open:
I’m going to throw a quarter unit on Stacy Lewis to win and E/W here. This is a very tricky one with no course history and the LPGA form has been rather odd lately. Lewis comes in on form with that Portland Classic 2nd place and I think she might be able to pick up her first win of the season.
On top of that – and I love Brooke Henderson – but the odds for her are too low and that’s helping push the others onto better odds. However I have looked and I don’t see anyone else of value. So that’s all I got.
