Golf is back for the 2020 season and we’ve got one tournament to pay attention this week, which is the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

A decent amount of players are skipping this one such as Brooks, Rory and Molinari. We’ve got a field of 34 for a quieter tournament which is fine with me. I prefer it from a betting perspective as it allows me to ease my way in before getting on with the tips.

It starts tomorrow afternoon and is only for golfers who have won a tournament in the previous calendar year.

Last years winner was Xander Schauffele who beat Woodland by just 1 stroke. A fair bit off the win by DJ the year prior who finished ahead by 8 strokes.

Let’s see what we got. Oh and I hope everyone had a good holiday season!

Tournament of Champions 2020 Betting Tips:

Rahm is the favourite at 9/2. LIke often in golf one guy is rightly the heavy favourite but the odds just aren’t there in my opinion. DJ is tempting but I want to see more from him after his knee surgery.

Patrick Cantlay 2/1: 1u to finish Top 5. I stayed away from the E/W bet on Cantlay which only rewards top 4. I honestly find it hard to see him winning. However I think he will contend. There’s been a few chances to the course to make it go faster and I think he will benefit from that. He had a disappointing 15th place finish when he played here two years ago but I like him to be a contender here.

Brendan Todd 35/1 : 1/8u to win & E/W. His odds have dropped from 45/1 to 35/1 over the past couple of days however he is still completely bettable in my opinion – just dropping it from 1/4u to 1/8u. He last played here a few years ago and came 8th. Last time we saw him he was in some fine form and I hope he will be itching for this one.

Gary Woodland: 14/1: 1/8u to win & E/W. He should be in here as defending champion. He had an excellent tournament last time out and I think he can contend here and possibly surprise.

Graeme McDowell: 125/1. 1/8u to win & E/W I just wanted a long shot bet and looking at everyone above 50/1 he stuck out to me. Kevin Na was right tempting and he’s had the experience here however I fancy McDowell to surprise.
