it was a mixed day for the betting tips yesterday as we went 1-1.
We had Hull to beat West Ham. Twice, Hull took the lead only for West ham to claw a goal back. It was a very open ended game with West Ham playing very offensively which was surprising. It was also disappointing to see Ben Arfa not start for Hull.
Still for Hull fans this is an exciting period. A lot of potential there. And as a Football Manager fan, I can tell you right now Hull will be the first team I play as in Football Manager 2015.
We won with the other bet, which was Over 52 points in the Eagles vs Colts. Man that game made me mad – I had my fantasy football league wrapped up unless Sproles hit 25+ points. And he had 28 points in it. Are you kidding me? I was already bloody celebrating.
That was quite the game though – it started a bit slow but things picked up in the 2nd half. Quite the intense ending to it as well, and sucks for Andrew Luck. I like the guy but that was a bad pick and the Colts D looked exhausted at that point.
Good to see them using Trent Richardson more though.
Alright – it’s the UEFA Champions League today, and we’re going to be doing betting tips for that. We’ll also get to work on a challenge as well here very soon.
UEFA Champions League Betting Tips: Galatasaray vs Anderlecht
This is a big game for both teams in Group D. With Arsenal and Dortmund the other two teams in here – both teams are basically battling to prove who ISN’T the weak link.
Galatasaray are the favourites here at 3/4 odds but Anderlecht are a young team who play well together and are very cohesive as a unit – think Switzerland in the World Cup.
We think this will be a competitive game and while we agree with the betting odds, we don’t see value on Galatasaray at that price. Instead we are going to go with goals in that game.
UEFA Champions League Betting Tips: Benfica vs Zenit St Petersburg
We’re going to go with the upset here – Zenit to win.
Benfica have been decent if unspectacular(other than the Vitoria Setubal game) in the league, while Zenit have been running hot. We’ve been very impressed in that one.
We generally look at away teams to see who has the best chance but are not favoured and Zenit come up there – the only concern is about Hulk but we’re going to ride with Zenit anyway. We think they have what it takes to get the win here.
UEFA Champions League Betting Tips: Real Madrid vs Basel
After the Athletic result here, we’re going to go with the handicap of Real Madrid. It’s -2 meaning they need to win by 3 – but they need to erase that past result from memories fast.
They tend to dominate the smaller teams at home with ease – last season they thumped Copenhagen and Galatasaray 4-0 and 4-1 respectively.
We’re going with a similar result here.
