We only had the one betting tip yesterday, which was the Toronto Argonauts to beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL. Unfortunately after a big 1st quarter by the Tiger-Cats where they went up 10-3, Argonauts could not recover and went down 13-12 overall.
Surprising result, and not the most exciting game to ring in the new Hamilton stadium but oh well.
Big week in sports this week. We’ve got the European Championship Qualifiers as Euro 2016 gets into action. The NFL returns, and we’ve got the BMW Championship in Golf.
We have 1 BMW Championship Betting Tip today, and will have another 1 tomorrow as well as some NFL Betting Tips I expect for Thursdays game.
But for now let’s get some football betting tips going – with the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
Johnstones Paint Trophy Betting Tips: Crewe vs Rochdale
These two League One teams played just 2 weeks ago, with Rochdale running out 5-2 winners away. Rochdale just dominated Crewe in that match.
We’ve now got the same match-up and good odds on Rochdale. 6/4 odds while the draw is 23/10 and Crewe are 7/4.
Even more importantly is that Crewe are affected by the international call ups. They’ll be missing a couple of key players like Marcus Haber and George Ray.
This is a weakened Crewe side who Rochdale dominated already once. Expect them to do it again.
Johnstones Paint Trophy Betting Tips: Peterborough vs Leyton Orient
Peterborough won the Johnstones Paint Trophy last year, and we like them to get the win over Leyton Orient.
They’re slight favourites in a game the bookies have deemed very tight. 7/5 for Peterborough to win, 12/5 for the draw and 9/5 for Leyton Orient.
It is a tight game for sure – but we like Peterborough to do the business here and progress onto the next round, in defense of their trophy.
Golf Betting Tips: BMW Championship
To no surprise, Rory McIlroy is the favourite going into this one. He’s going to be the favourite for golf tournaments for a long, long time I expect.
Funny as one year ago he wasn’t even on the map here – finishing tied for 59th spot with a +7. Amazing how a year can change things in golf.
We’re going to go with a Top 10 finish here and we’re going to bet on Jim Furyk.
Furyk did great here last year – he hit a -13 which saw him come 3rd in the leaderboard, behind just Zach Johnson and Nick Watney. The year before he came 9th with a respectable -14.
Furyk loves this course, he always does well at the BMW Championship. We’re getting 9/2 odds on him and our golf betting simulation believes that is a good price. It feels based on his history here and his form, he is an odds on favourite so we’ll take the 9/2 odds.
