Oof – a disappointing outing in the English national league as both tips of Wrexham to win and Hartlepool to win went up in smoke. Both teams drew 0-0.
How the Wrexham game stayed 0-0 I don’t know as both teams had a host of chances. I was initially going to go with under 2.5 goals in that game too. If I had and it had won I would have considered myself very lucky. Both teams had a lot of great chances including a 40 yard shot from Wrexhams Mike Fondop that hammered off the bar.
From the bits and pieces I saw Hartlepool were lucky to even get a draw with Barrow missing a penalty and one of the other Barrow players missing a sitter.
More frustrating than those results however, were when I sat down earlier today to figure out exactly what the UEFA Nations League is about and the point of it. I mean I get the point of it – friendly matches are useless and competitive matches are what it’s all about these days. However it just feels like they have made it incredibly confusing. Oh well we’ll see how it goes.
That kicks off on September 6th and I’m undecided if I’ll do betting tips for it or not. I probably will.

Botafogo vs Cruzeiro Betting Tips:
I always hate betting or tipping the draw however I do think this one has a strong possibility of being a draw and will back it for a small play.
Cruzeiro are currently on 31 points in the Brazilian Serie A with Botafogo on 25. Botafogo have gotten most of their points at home with 19 points out of 10 home games.
Neither team is very good offensively and Cruzeiro have scored just 5 goals in 11 away games. Defensively Cruzeiro are better though with the joint 4th best record in the league defensively.
Both teams are really out of form at the moment and inconsistent. I just can’t separate the sides and think the draw is the best play here.

Bahia vs Sport Recife Betting Tips:
Bahia have been struggling and Moreira is yet to really get them on the winning path. They come into this having lost 3 of their last 4 games.
However Sport Recife have also really been struggling although credit to them they got a 1-0 win over Parana on the weekend. Have to think that’s what is giving this one decent enough odds for Bahia.
Despite their form Bahia are generally solid at home. Sport Recife have one of the worst defensive records in the league and I think Bahia will go out guns a blazing in this one.
