Ooof – why such slim pickings for Saturday football? One EPL game and three Serie A games. Gutting.
Oh well I’ll go through all the Serie A games at least.
Sunday is a busier day with a ton of La Liga and Serie A action. I’ve sort of gravitated away from La Liga over the last couple weeks and I’ll probably keep that way. Just the way it is.
Quick recap of the last few days. EPL on the 15th correctly called Burnley vs Wolves to be a draw. 3.40 odds so that was nice. Needed a 96th minute goal but I’ll take it! Newcastle and Liverpool let us down but despite a 1-2 day it was a profitable one.
Serie A was an unfortunate 1-4 day.
EPL was a good day on the 16th as we won with Villa or Draw and also Man Utd -1.5. Only loss there was Leicester / Sheff Utd to draw.
Let’s look at the three Serie A games taking place on the 18th:
July 18, 2020 Serie A Betting Tips:
Verona vs Atalanta Betting Tips: Atalanta thumped Brescia 6-2 as they continue to be the best team post pandemic. They are away here and their away results have been interesting with a 2-2 draw at Juventus, a tight 1-0 win over Cagliari and a 3-2 win over Udinese. While home/away isn’t really a factor they have certainly had some tight ones.
Verona meanwhile lost to Roma to make it 4 games in a row without a win. They are big underdogs here at 6.50 to win with the draw at 5.25. Any hopes of a top spot for European football has been shattered and it’s simply playing for pride now.
It’s possible it will be a tight one for Atalanta but I’m fine backing the handicap. 1u on Atalanta -1.5 at 2.00 odds. I think we have better than coinflip chances they cover.
Cagliari vs Sassuolo Betting Tips: Sassuolo saw their winning run come to an end however it was a very impressive draw with Juventus that ended it. Cagliari continue to struggle and that 3-0 loss to Sampdoria means they haven’t scored a goal in 4 games.
In Serie A, Sassuolo are still in the hunt for a European spot while Cagliari are simply twiddling their thumbs.
I see absolutely no reason not to take Sassuolo here. Yeah they are missing three key players in Berardi, Bourabia and Magnanelli who all got booked in that game against Juve but I’m good to back them here. They seem to have the depth. 1u on Sassuolo at 2.15 odds.
Milan vs Bologna Betting Tips: Milan continue their impressive form with a 3-1 win over Parma. Bologna had a 1-1 draw with Napoli. I wanted to back BTTS in that one but was concerned about the Bologna xG.
Milan will continue to do the business no doubt but I don’t see value in the handicap. No bet here.
