We’ve got a lot of Serie A action on Sunday and Monday, so I’ll cover that for the next two days.

Four games are taking place on Sunday, January 5th. What’s nice is they are all spread out during the day so for me for example living in EST, I’ve got football from 6:30am all the way through until 4:30pm. Can’t beat it.

It starts with Brescia battling Lazio, who look to continue their hot run. SPAL host Verona, Genoa host Sassuolo then we wrap it up with a good game featuring Roma vs Torino.

Should be a good day of football. Let’s get to it:

SPAL vs Verona Betting Tips:

Interesting story with SPAL going into this. It looked like they were going to fire Leonardo Semplici however they have stuck with him for the time being, and that worked otu as they were able to pull off a surprise 2-1 victory over Torino.

I think that will help them confidence wise as they go into this game. They’ve had issues scoring lately and to get 2 in one match is quite an achievement for them ha. Only the 2nd time this season they have did that.

SPAL average a goal at home.

Verona will be looking at a win here. They’ve had some unlucky results against Atalanta and Roma lately however had a good game against Torino, roaring back from 3 down.

I like SPAL to be confident enough here and to rack up at least a goal. However Verona are a feisty team and I think will carry on from that Torino result.

Both teams should be up for it and while with both being very low in overall offensive stats, I think both of them can get on the scoresheet here.

Genoa vs Sassuolo Betting Tips:

Genoa now welcome their third manager of the season with Davide Nicola in charge.

His job will be to get them out of the relegation zone and will be hitting the transfer market most likely. They will have Goran Pandev back for this one. They are bottom of Serie A but just 5 points away from being out of the relegation zone so while it’s a bad situation, it’s not bleak yet.

Sassuolo are 13th in the league and have been generally solid this year. They had that tough loss to Napoli just prior to the Christmas break.

They are average away with a 2-3-3 record.

Will “new manager” syndrome be a factor here? I think this one will be a close one. Genoa will be competitive especially with the transfer market coming up while Sassuolo have been happy picking up points on the road and I think this one ends up being a draw. Andrea Consigli is back in net for Sassuolo.

I think this game has goals.
