Well a lot of midweek cup football taking place Wednesday in England, Italy and Spain. I won’t bother touching them. People who live in Milan will not be able to attend the game. Crazy stuff ha.
So I guess we’ll look at the Scottish Premier League games taking place on March 5th.
A quick note that due to my trip this week I won’t be updating the stats on the sidebar/in the spreadsheet until next week when I return.
The big story of course going into the Scottish Premier League this week is the future of Steven Gerrard. Despite their performances in Europe, Rangers have struggled domestically to the point he is possibly questioning leaving Rangers.
It’s a shame considering the high we were on going into the Christmas break. There’s been something about that break that just killed the players. You can see it in our performances etc.
Let’s cover that one:
Rangers vs Hamilton Betting Tips:
Rangers are big, big favourites for this one as you can imagine. The sportsbooks except us to absolutely demolish Hamilton without conceding a goal. Rangers to win to nil is just 1.53 odds.
It’s hard to bet on games involving the Old Firm, however this is a game where I feel justified betting Rangers to cover the handicap. This is a game where we need to play at our best for Gerrard. If we don’t? Pfft we don’t deserve him.
Our home record is excellent. Hamilton are on a bad run of form at the moment and are not looking too good in the SPL.
I think this is a massive statement game for Rangers. Have to back us to show everyone what we’re made of and hopefully if Morelos plays, he does what he does best and gets back to scoring goals.
Kilmarnock vs Aberdeen Betting Tips:
It’s been a miserable time for Aberdeen lately however interestingly enough they’ve performed better away than at home.
Kilmarnock had a good run cut off with a loss to Hibs, and then lost to Celtic.
Both teams however are bringing the goals at the moment, and I like both teams to get on the scoresheet here. They’re both above average on offense and Aberdeen will be up for it being at away. Kilmarnock are fighting to get in the Top 6 but I think also have that confidence that at the very least they’re safe from relegation.
Neither team does over 50% in clean sheets on the home/away splits while they have failed to score below 50% of the time as well with higher than 50% conceding rates.
I like this one to have goals by both sides. Over/under 2.5 goals is very tempting as is the draw but I’ll go with this one.
