Welcome to Week 2 in the NFL.
Betting tips wise it was a tad poorer than last season’s +8 unit week 1, as I went 2-6 with the betting tips, and 3-0 on personal bets. At least if you followed them it was close to break even.
For Thursday Night Football, we have the Washington Football Team hosting the New York Giants.
Washington are 3 point favourites going into this one.
Last year we got treated to that 65 point thriller Bengals vs Browns on the 2nd TNF game of the season. I always find things can be a little bit weird this early on as teams get adjusted to not just playing NFL again, but playing it twice in just a few days.
Either way – tonight I am going with Washington -3. Some books have -3.5 but with this expected to be a low scoring game I’d probably only go with the 3. You can always check the list below to see who is -3. If you don’t have the option then yeah -3.5 is fine but maybe bet 3/4 of what you normally would.
On Monday, that was the play I thought I would go with and nothing has changed it over the week.
The Giants just did not look impressive last week and I feel their offense will struggle big time against this Washington defense. In saying that the defense was a complete dud against Herbert and have to hope for better from them here.
Heinicke is in for Washington who at least is basically a veteran They got tightly beaten by the Chargers and that could have been different. A missed field goal and a key fumble.
The Giants defense really struggled last week and couldn’t get Bridgewater off the field. I think that is more on the Giants D than Teddy.
Washington have McLaurin who of course is great and Logan Thomas looks solid too. Running wise they have Gibson and I’d like to see McKissic used more too.
Giants are not playing Engram it sounds like. This on paper is another stifling game for Barkley plus with limited practises who knows how much we see of him.
For this one – like I said, I liked Washington -3 early in the week and nothing has changed that.
