The semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League kicks off this week and the first game that takes place is Tottenham vs Ajax.

I’ll be analyzing and providing betting tips for all the games.

Not that I think it’s +EV or anything in terms of betting – the sportsbooks scrutinize these games more than anything else – but hell I know we’ll all be watching the games, so we may as well have SOME money on them right?

Let’s hop right in with the tips and we’ll analyze how both teams got here, and see what we can learn from that:

Tottenham vs Ajax Betting Tips:

Spurs automatically qualified for the Champions League by finishing third in the English premier League. Put in a tough group with Barcelona, Inter Milan and PSV Eindhoven, they got off to a bad start with a 2-1 loss to Inter Milan, a 4-2 loss at home to Barcelona and then strugled to a draw against PSV.

They turned things around at home against PSV after coming from behind. PSV scored in the 2nd minute and it needed goals from Kane in the 78th and 89th minute. They then beat Inter Milan 1-0 in a crucial game, and got a massive draw with Barcelona while Inter drew with PSV. No doubt about it – Spurs were lucky to make it out of the group stage and even had a negative goal difference.

They dominated against Borussia Dortmund in the next round, and then had that incredible game with Manchester City. I’ve watched the highlights of that a few times ha.

Ajax deserved to qualify from the group stage. They were drawn in a group with Bayern Munich, Benfica and AEK Athens and went unbeaten. A lot of people were shocked when Ajax put Real Madrid out. A lot of people were shocked again when Ajax put Juventus out. I know I was – it caught me right off guard. But looking over everything they fully deserve to be here on their own merit, and have been incredible.

Spurs have had a tough fixture list and had that 1-0 loss to West Ham on the weekend. They said it was stress and fatigue that got to them. Not the type of thing you need when hosting a team like Ajax. Spurs also go i nto this one missing Son Heung-min due to his yellow card against City. Harry Kane will also be missing of course, as are Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko.

Ajax themselves don’t come in unscathed. Carel Eiting and Noussair Mazroui are struggling with fitness due to injuries.

Ajax will come into this one rested at least and that could be a factor.

Odds wise, Ajax are favourites to qualify at 1.70 odds while Spurs are 2.05.

Ajax have been sensational really and have really proven themselves. Tottenham have been solid at home other than that Barcelona loss though and have won every game.

I can’t pick anything for this game. Instead I am going to go for the overall result of Ajax to qualify. As I think it is possible Spurs pick up a win here. Ajax or Draw is tempting but at 1.55 odds, no thanks.

Ajax to qualify, 3u bet. Best price I can spot is 1.70 odds at https://www.Bovada.lv. And actually with fatigue possibly being an issue, I think 1u on Ajax at 2.90 odds to win this game is a fine risk.
