Well it was almost a fantastic return to the LPGA for us last week. We had the 125/1 Brittany Lincicome to win or place, and she went into the last day in 2nd place just 1 stroke off the lead.
Unfortunately she had a disastrous final day and what could have been an insane cash was not to be.
Thankfully Dustin Johnson did it for us again with the cash. Here’s the betting slip:
And nice that I was able to predict him being in the Top 5 but did not do the bet for him to win or E/W. Good I was on the right track there.
This week it’s the 2016 US Open and I’m going to be putting all of my focus on that one. We’ll have a couple of serious bets and then a few long shots. While I don’t expect the long shots to win we’ve seen quite a few before get in the Top 6. Like Louis O at 100/1 last year or Cameron Smith who was 500/1. The year before saw the 400/1 Erik Compton come 2nd, and before that the 500/1 Michael Thompson came 2nd.
Let’s check out the betting odds for the US Open before we get to the tips:
US Open 2016 Betting Odds:
- Jason Day: 13/2
- Rory McIlroy: 15/2
- Jordan Spieth: 10/1
- Dustin Johnson: 14/1
- Phil Mickelson: 28/1
- Justin Rose: 28/1
- Hideki Matsuyama: 30/1
- Rickie Fowler: 33/1
- Adan Scott: 33/1
- Henrik Stenson: 35/1
US Open 2016 Betting Tip #1: Dustin Johnson
Right outta the gates I gotta take Dustin Johnson to win and E/W. Johnson is just an exceptional golfer who is on some tremendous form at the moment. There’s a reason he has one us the best bets this season. It’s actually been quite a while since he last won a PGA Tournament – but his US Open Form is tremendous and I think he’s coming into it as one of the most on form golfers.
The 14/1 odds are just too high a price for me – I think that’s very juicy although I do understand why the odds are that amount with Day, Rory and Spieth. I’ll be taking Johnson to pick up the massive win for a full unit.
US Open 2016 Betting Tip #2: Brooks Koepka
It’s hard not to look at Brooks Koepka here. His form coming into this tournament is 2 2nd places in a row – at the Byron Nelson and St Jude Classic. Both fantastic performances and he’s been on fire. He’s also perofmred well at the US Open in the past – 18th last year and a 4th place the year before.
I’m taking a half unit bet on Koepka to win and E/W.
U S Open Betting Tip #3: 4 Longshot Bets
I won’t bother going into reasoning for these – just from glancing at some stats I’ve thought “Sure I’ll bet them”. It’s up to you how you want to bet them – you could go for much safer bets like a Top 20 finish or whatever. I’ll be betting to win and E/W in the hope of that fluke and the big payout.
I’m taking:
Jason Dufner: 100/1
David Toms: 300/1
Brandt Snedeker: 66/1
Kevin Chappell: 90/1
