Hi everyone,
We’ve got the US Open this week and we come in swinging after a successful outing at the LPGA last week.
I correctly predicted the 16/1 winner, Brooke Henderson. She scared us a little with it going to a playoff, but was able to pull it off thankfully.
Almost had another nice cash with the 33/1 Marina Alex in the Top 5. That one came down to the very last shot, and she ended up 1 stroke out.
This week we have the U.S. Open. From a viewing perspective? Hell yeah! Always excited about a Major. But from a betting perspective? Not so much. Along with factoring in that it’s a Major, it’s being held at The Country Club. I think it was 1999 when it last held an event (The Ryder Cup), and then the 2013 US Amateur.
On top of that there has been a lot of changes since then. Basically when it comes to betting, I like to think most of what I do is calculated risk. But in spots like this? It’s pure gambling.
So yeah. I’ve been reading. Studying. Analyzing. But I’ll be completely honest – this week is a lot of guess work. But it’s also a major, and we have more flexibility with E/W at Top 8 – so lets’ go with 2 units spread over 4 golfers.
$62.50 on Billy Horschel To Win & E/W at 50/1.
When I run my metrics, he is right at the top. Game should really suit this course. Coming in off that huge domination at the Memorial Tournament. He keeps that form going, he’s gotta be among the top people.
$62.50 on Will Zalatoris To Win & E/W at 28/1
If it’s a tough course, you gotta pencil in Will as he just loves this type of thing. This looks like a very tough course and so will be right up his alley. His stats for stroke gained on approach and off the tee are big for me this week and his driving distance should be solid. Like Will here.
