The WGC HSBC Champions 2017 event takes place this week.
It’s been part of the PGA & European Tour since 2013 when prior to that it was a European Tour only event.
If you’re looking for historical data they have played every year at the Sheshan Golf Club except for 2012 when they played at Mission Hills Golf Club.
It’s a prestigious tournament with the biggst prize money in East Asia. Last year saw Hideki Matsuyama absolutely dominate it to win in 7 strokes, the biggest margin.
Usually it’s a lot tighter than that being decided by up to 3 strokes max. In 2014 it went to a playoff with Bubba up against Tim Clark.
Let’s see what we got this week:
WGC HSBC Champions 2017 Betting Tips:
Phil Mickelson: Granted it’s been a few years since Mickelson played here but the big man has won it twice when it was part of the European Tour. Most importantly he has really seemed to rediscover his form. He had a solid performance at the Safeway Open and wasn’t too bad at the BMW Championship earlier.
Phil isn’t playing too many tournaments at the moment but with a weakened field here and surprisingly nice odds Phil could do the business here. I’m on him at 1/2 unit to win & E/W.
Ross Fisher: Fisher is coming into this one on fire after a 2nd place at the Italian Open and an impressive 2nd place at the Links. He’s also had two Top 10 performances here in the last two years and I’m happy backing the Englishman for 1/2 unit to win & E/W.
