Just a real head shake after last week.

To be honest after the bad weather messed everything up early in the Genesis Open, I wasn’t too bothered about the results. Something that throws everything astray and win or lose – it is what it is.

However by the end of the tournament I was raging. We had 4 solid contenders – including a 140/1 pick – that looked good for at least the Top 5 cash and it all went to hell.

Our 140/1 pick was Michael Thompson. After shooting a 69 and 64 he went with a 73 and 70 with a brutal double bogey in the 3rd round that really hurt him. After the play by him the first two rounds that was a killer. The way it was going I already had people e-mailing me on the weekend thanking me for the money ha.

Watson and Casey also crashed and what about Jordan Spieth. An absolutely brutal final day. Gutting to see that.

This week we have the first WGC event of the season which is the WGC Mexico Championship. It’s at the Club d eGolf Chapultepec.

Let’s get to it. That’s a couple weeks in a row now where we’ve went in strong on the last day only to see it go tits up. Hope it turns around this week:

WGC Mexico Championship 2019 Betting Tips:

Justin Thomas: 10/1. Despite the short odds, Thomas is worth betting here. He’s the favourite and rightfully so. He’s in killer form at the moment and has finished 5th and 2nd here and all the metrics match up for him when it comes to what factors in at this course. 1/2u to win.

Kevin Kisner: 110/1. This is an interesting one. Solid performances here, decent performances coming into it. He figures out well with the metrics that I rate for this course. When Ladbrokes opened the odds up yesterday he was 80/1 and I felt it was a tight one but probably worth a play. However now Bet365 have opened theirs up and he is 110/1 and that makes it a much easier play. 1/8u to win & E/W.

Marc Leishman: 30/1. Quite a decent price on Leishman who comes in off the back of a solid performance and suits up well for this course. 1/4u to win & E/W.

Xander Schauffele: 25/1 Solid form and performed well here last year. Xander has some excellent performances in the last year and has performed well in tough fields. His scrambling could be a big factor here. 1/4u to win & E/W.
