Well the WNBA has returned from the Olympics break, and it’s time to get going with the rest of the season. I haven’t really tipped WNBA in awhile although I have still been betting it but I hope to get back into it more now I have more time on my hands.
I took some time during the break to really analyze everything and one team I think is going to stand out is the Washington Mystics. They’re seeded 8th right now and are a team I would back at this point to potentially surprise when Delle Donne is back – and hopefully Meeseman.
Let’s see what we’ve got tonight. Five games – I’m a bit wary of getting big time into betting tips due to the break and it’s been awhile since I’ve really bet WNBA so let’s consider this more just leans/opinions. The rest of this season may just be more conversational tips while I fine-tune my system.
Lynx at Sun
The Minnesota Lynx come in riding an 8 game winning streak. The 8-1 at home Connecticut Sun will be a tough challenge for them.
These two played in May and it was a right game that the Lynx won in overtime and broke their skid.
I think the Lynx run comes to an end here. Connecticut are nice and rested, Jonquel Jones is crushing it. I’m going with Suns -3.5 here.
Wings at Sky
The Sky had a tough fought 87-85 win over the Storm. The Wings got crushed by the Sun.
Sky look to bring the momentum tonight. They badly need it – been awhile since they won two in a row.
You could parlay Sun & Sky at +120 which is pretty decent. I’d probably take Sky -6 if Parker is playing. If she isn’t, bets are off.
Mystics at Aces
I’ll feel better about the Msytics when Delle Donne is back. No bet on this one but it won’t surprise me if, despite the last game, the Aces cover the point spread here.
Fever at Mercury
The question here isn’t if Phoenix win really but by how much? Fever must be sick that the olympic break happened just as they strung some wins together and solid performances. My prediction for this one is Fever run them close fot the first half then Mercury take over. I’ll be monitoring this one and hoping to live bet a slightly smaller point spread. Say 5-6.
Dream at Sparks
Dream are 4 point dogs. Sparks looked so happy that Ogwumike was in and she could play a big role. With Hayes still out I think that will continue to hurt the Dream. Going with Sparks -4.
