June 11th was quite the day in the Women’s World Cup.

We had one real bet then two speculative small bets that unfortunately didn’t pan out.

The real bet was 2u on Over 2.5 goals in the New Zealand vs Netherlands game. That was an unlucky one as it was 1-0 going on 8-8. Especially that first half. Just one of those ones where we had the right bet but variance wasn’t our friend.

Then it was casual bets of over 2.5 on Chile vs Sweden and USA vs Thailand BTTS that didn’t pan out. What a performance by the Americans.

Lot of people upset about that and the way they kept scoring and celebrating but meh – it’s not like the players are doing it out of spite. They’re playing on the biggest stage of them all and quite rightly excited at scoring. Just another example of people who have nothing better to do but piss and moan.

I’ll be doing double duty the next little while covering both the WWC and Copa America. The Copa America kicks off on Friday and you can see my Brazil vs Bolivia Tips here.

Let’s get into the Women’s World Cup fixtures for Friday, June 14th:

Japan vs Scotland Betting Tips:

Japan drew 0-0 with Argentina in a surprise to open the group, while Scotland didn’t do too bad in only losing to England 2-1.

Japan go in as 1.72 favourites in this one.

Japan just couldn’t break down the Argentinian defence. Argentina clearly came out to win a point and they duly delivered. Japan were generally predictable in attack. It’ll be interesting going up against Scotland as having lost their last game, Scotland won’t want to play for the draw here.

We didn’t really see the Japanese defense tested too much so it’s hard to see how Scotland will fare against them.

Scotland generally put up a solid defensive performance against England and it was bad luck(penalty) or just a mistake that caused the goals.

I just don’t think Scotland will go out to play for the draw, and I think that will be their downfall. I mean not that they should play for the draw of course but I think Japan will be able to break them down and be up for this one – especially knowing England are looming.

2u on Japan to win at 1.72 odds. Bet it at https://www.Bovada.lv

Jamaica vs Italy Betting Tips:

Jamaica got thumped 3-0 by Brazil despite putting up 14 shots. Italy pulled off the surprise win over Australia. (Both I correctly won the bets on yay!).

Italy are now 1.12 favourites to win here.

It was interesting seeing Jamaica go with a 4-3-3 which was not expected. Brazil did great at adjusting to the way Jamaica played and stretching the play.

I hope Jamaica go with a similar aggressive style here to make it a fun game. They played a high line but Brazil exploited it a lot.

it’ll be interesting seeing how Italy line up here as favourites. They did great against Australia generally relying on the counter attack but they may have to be the controlling team here.

This could be a game with both teams pressing and it could be a fun one. Jamaica need to be more composed up front but they were clearly full of nervous energy in the first game. We’ll do a small play here.

0.5u on BTTS. 2.62 odds, available at https://www.Bovada.lv

England vs Argentina Betting Tips:

While it was only a 2-1 win, England still looked good. I really liked their set piece creativity.

Argentina parked the bus against Japan and will do similar here.

However I think England are more creative than Japan. We saw that against Scotland.

Unfortunately there really isn’t anything bettable here. I don’t even feel like any casual bets on this one. And bets like “England to win to nil” are just 1.5 odds.

The under 2.5 at 2.87 odds is slightly tempting but the problem is when England score, and I am sure they will, how Argentina react to that.

No bet on this one for me.
