Nothing last week in the golf.
I completely forgot to mention it due to the break I took when my family was visiting – but I noticed it yesterday when updating my stats. We had a nice little win at the Travelers Championship.
Had Brian Harman at 6/1 to finish in the Top 10, and then him to win & E/W at 66/1. He actually came second there for a nice little cash.
We’re at -6.09u for the season at the moment. Pretty standard for golf as it all it can take is one win at decent odds to completely change that.
Let’s see what we have this week – I’m going to try to stick to that 1 full unit bet covering 4 bets for the next little while as I like having a stricter system like that.
Wyndham Championship 2023 Bets:
Driving accuracy, and GIR are the two big factors here. Bermuda positive will also probably play a part. Course form plays a part too where applicable.
One thing I feel I haven’t got the right balance with yet is factoring in SG stats. I never used to use them until they became widely available. So I run two different systems. One without them, one with. So as an example if I use the SG stats as heavily weighted, Matsuyama jumps right to the top. But without them, he drops to the top 10 field at best.
He’s just never had the course form here overall. While a 3rd, 11th and 15th he’s also missed the cut a bunch and I don’t think his odds are justified, so that’s why I’m not betting him.

40/1: Cameron Davis To Win & E/W for 1/4u
Nothing outstanding in the metrics, but he’s coming in off the back of a great performance, and also performed well here in the two times he has played this course.
He just suits this sort of course in general.
20/1: Russell Henley To Win & E/W for 1/4u
Non-SG he’s further down the pack, with SG strongly weighted he is a strong contender. He has the course form, and while he didn’t make the cut at the Open Championship, he was playing well before then and hopefully comes in motivated on a course he is comfortable on.
