Today I will be covering Sundays XFL games.
Two games with high point spreads.
The St Louis Battlehawks are 10 point favourites as they host the New York Guardians. Quite the line. The New York Guardians were someone everyone was ready to back last week (which I didn’t get and bet against them) and this week they are massive underdogs. Welcome to the XFL!
The other game features the DC Defenders on the road as the LA Wildcats host them. The DC Defenders are emerging as the best team in the XFL, and they are 8 point favourites as they go up against the feisty Wildcats team.
Let’s get to it:
Guardians at Battlehawks Betting Tips:
The New York Guardians got off to a great start in Week 1 as they beat the Vipers 23-3. However reality set in on Week 2 as they got destroyed by the DC Defenders 27-0.
The St. Louis Battlehawks are 1-1. They beat the Dallas Renegades 15-9 in Week 1, however lost 24-28 to the Roughnecks in Week 2. That was an interesting game. I said last week that I like Jonathan Hayes and he is the type of guy that people want to play for.
The over/under is set at 40 points.
This is the home debut for the St. Louis Battlehawks. I think they are going to be a very motivated time and fighting all the way. I think they are a team who will perform for the coach, and we saw that with the fight they showed in the 4th quarter last week.
Jordan Ta’amu has looked great with the offensive calls and it’s going to make for a tough game for the Guardians defense. They were highly respected in week 1 but their defense took a pounding in week 2.
Guardians had some serious issues last week offensively too with Matt McGloin seriously struggling and arguing with the coach. Then after the game he ripped on Gilbride as well.
This is a tough one to call. I almost want to back the Guardians. Everyone else is writing them off after Week 2 however they are the same people that loved them after week 1.
With all the disarray in the team, I’m not too sure but I do think their offense has what it takes against the Battlehawks to get some points going.
A lot of people are backing the unders this week and it makes sense but this is one I think I am going to go with the over. I’m not ready to write off the Guardians yet.

Defenders at Wildcats Betting Tips:
The DC Defenders are already emerging as the Orlando Apollos of the XFL. A 31-19 win over the Seattle Dragons was followed up by an obliteration of the New York Guardians 27-0.
The Los Angeles Wildcats are 0-2 but have did their best. They lost 37-17 against the Roughnecks and 25-18 against the Renegades in a hell of a 4th quarter.
Wildcats I was impressed with in Week 1 especially as I felt they did a great job of matching the Roughnecks in that first half.
DC looked excellent last week. The offensive line did a lot and the Defenders rushed the ball as well as passed it well. Wildcats fired Pepper Johnson after Week 1 and that was a good factor in Week 2.
LA will have Josh Johnson hopefully playing better and they have Nelson Spruce.
This is a tough one. Wildcats are a team I like. However I do think DC Defenders are the team to beat.
