Today I’ll cover the XFL games taking place on Sunday, February 9th as we wrap up Week 1 in the XFL.
I’ve already covered the games taking place on Saturday, February 8th. You can see them here. It might be wise to wait to see how the football plays out before making tips for the latter games.
However I plan on heading to a bar to watch the games and may be in no condition to tip things later.
Looking forward to it and let’s hope XFL takes off because man – the Super Bowl and the NFL season just feels so long ago.
XFL Betting Tips: Vipers at Guardians
The Tampa Bay Vipers are the only road favourites in this first week of the XFL season, as they head to New York to take on the Guardians. The Vipers are 2nd favourites to win the XFL Championships at +400. Interestingly the Guardians are third favourites at +450 yet are the underdogs in this home clash.
That’s a big shock considering the Guardians are unbeaten in their entire XFL history.
Sportsbooks have Vipers with the biggest win totals as well at over/under 7.5 and the Guardians at over/under 4. Just an example of how all over the place the sportsbooks are with the XFL at the moment.
Vipers losing Antonio Callaway is a big loss. Aaron Murray is a solid QB but I don’t know if the rest of the offense is going to be able to keep things going for them.
The Guardians meanwhile? A bunch of young dudes who want to go out there and prove themselves. They’ve got Matt McGloin starting who had to have did well to beat Perez to the starting job. Gilbride is an excellent coach.
Vipers have De’Veon Smith though who should be great. If they run a lot they can do the business. he was a beast for the Apollos.
I’m going to take Over 52.5 in this one. Now I warn you that you should wait till the early games kick off and see if they go over the 50.5 / 51.5 line totals. If they don’t? Then it might be smart to not bet this one.
XFL Betting Tips: Battlehawks at Renegades
The Dallas Renegades are the biggest favourites of the weekend at -9.5 as they take on the St. Louis Battlehawks. The Renegades are the favourites to win the XFL Championship at +300 while the Battlehawks are +1000.
Renegades have an injury concern with Landry Jones. From what I am hearing Philip Nelson will be starting for the Renegades. Maybe he will step up still however I think this is a great little spot to take the Battlehawks. Even if Landry plays he won’t be fully healthy and that may hurt.
Battlehawks have some solid players. I really like Kenny Robinson. Dude is just 21 and looks hungry. At RB they have Christine Michael who I feel is a solid player and has a lot to prove. I thought he did well for the Seahawks when he was starting RB and is solid.
1u on Battlehawks +9.5.
