Group E kicks off earlier in the day on June 15th, with Switzerland vs Ecuador. That game is immediately followed by France vs Honduras, a game featuring the favourites to win Group E, and the underdogs in Group E.
France are relatively strong favourites to win the group at 4/6 odds, while Honduras odds of qualifying are a high 13/2. No surprise there really – Honduras were very poor in the qualification stage.
France however – who knows with them. They were a disaster of course in World Cup 2010, and they even struggled to get here. They barely made it thanks to a 3-0 win against Ukraine in the second leg, after being 2-0 down.
Since the qualification stage though, France have been looking to get their act together. In friendlies they beat the Netherlands 2-0 and Norway 4-0, before tieing with Paraguay 1-1.
Honduras recently got a 0-0 draw against flat England, although also lost to Israel and Turkey over the past month. The game against England was an interesting one actually – England were dominating it, but then Honduras started getting physical and that changed the tone of the game. If they come out ready to break some legs on June 15th, they may just surprise everyone.

France of course will be going into this game without Franck Ribery, a massive loss for the team. Despite that, they still have a lot of quality and should have no problem against Honduras.
Unfortunately, neither of the above bets are worth betting. France should win – but 2/5 odds when you can get better value via props – which I’ll go into shortly – is just not worth it.
For Over/Under 2.5 goals – the line just isn’t any good. France are pretty much 50% when it comes to 2.5 goals, while Honduras are 44% over. It’s very close and the odds reflected are probably fair and there’s no +EV in betting either side.
So no bets for the match winner OR the Over/Under 2.5 goals however let’s look at the betting props.

This is where we can get into some value.
We want a France win bet, so we have to look at the options available to us. The one that jumps out easily is France-France, as in France to be leading both at half time and full time.
20/21 are the betting odds on France-France, and that’s what we like. France are 30% more likely to score in the first half – and it’s going to be tough for Honduras to even break down a tough France defense. A lot of teams have mind you – but I just can’t see it.
Ribery going will hopefully gel the team together better too – a lot of players will need to step up, and France will be taking the game by the throat right from the beginning of teh match.
It’s hard not to see France scoring in the first half, controlling the game and winning our bet of France to be leading at the end of the first half, and at the end of the game.
