Of all the opening group games, the game with the most interest is surely Germany vs Portugal. Two legitimate World Cup contenders squaring off on the first game of the groups – what a match this is going to be.

Based on the many simulations our computer did – both teams scored. Almost every freaking simulation. Both Germany and Portugal are a lot better attacking than defending. They are both set up for the counter attack – however they both also attack too, and both teams strengths lay in attack.
We like both teams to score, and the odds are 5/6 which….isn’t too bad. We’d like higher, but this is still a solid and nice bet. We’ve looked at other variables and you could do both teams to score and Germany to win at 4/1. We’re going to play it safe early on though, and go with just both teams to score.
