On June 25th, 2014 Bosnia take on Iran in what is quite an intriguing match-up. This is the final set of matches in Group F of the 2014 World Cup, with Argentina taking on Nigeria in the other one.
This really is an interesting match-up. Bosnia are out of the World Cup, and you have to wonder if they have what it takes to rally for a last solid appearance, to go out on a high note. They’re going up against an incredibly strict defense in Iran, so it will be hard to break them down.
However then we have Iran. They have yet to score in this World Cup, and they are a ridiculously strict defensive unit. Only some Lionel Messi magic in injury time has managed to beat the Iranians so far.
However they actually have to attack. They can’t sit back in this game. They’ve had some chances of course – but with the need to score at least one it’s going to be a very interesting game to watch from the Iran perspective.
Iran need Nigeria to lose. That’s their only chance of qualifying. Right now, Nigeria sit on a goal difference of +1 and Iran sit on a goal difference of -1. With the bare minimum of 1 goal difference, that would tie them both up. But with the possibility of Nigeria losing more against Argentina, 1-0 could be enough.
So theoretically, Iran only need to win this game 1-0 to give them the best chance of progressing.

At that price, it’s hard to see by Iran.
27/10 for a team that almost drew against Argentina, and has a fortress for a defense? Against the Bosnians who – while unlucky against Argentina – just did not look good against Nigeria. Sure they were unlucky as they had a goal chopped off – but they’re not worthy of being such heavy favourites.
The only issue is if Iran can score – but they’ve had the chances and opportunities and they could have had 1 or 2 against Argentina. I don’t think we can rule the Iranians out from scoring – all it takes is one goal.
The Under 2.5 market is also appealing. Both markets are – I’d be betting on Iran to win and Under 2.5 goals and seeing if I can double them up somewhere.

I think the two above are solid. Probably not worth betting anything else.
If you do, you can go with Draw-Iran which is 13/2. I dunno though – I almost think Iran will come out trying to strike early. They know they need a goal and if they can pressure and get that against a shattered Bosnian team then it is a good opportunity to do just that.
I would stick with Under 2.5 goals and Iran to win. Those are high enough odds bets.
