Group F features the mighty Iran, Nigeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina and….hmmm, who is the other team? Oh yeah, Argentina. A team that promises so much – yet delivers so little. They were the team I grew up loving – the Hand of God, man what a thing to have in your childhood.
Argentina are always amongst the favourites, yet you have to go back to 1990, 24 years, for their last solid tournament where they got into the final losing to West Germany.
Argentina got here by winning the CONMEBOL They won 9 of 16, drew 5 and lost 2. Rather shaky performances honestly, although in the games they won they did look very good and won convincingly for the most part. Bosnia and Herzegovina are playing in their first ever world cup, after navigating through a tough group in a very impressive fashion. Nigeria qualified with ease defeating Ethipoia in the CAF Third Round, and Iran…..does it even matter?

World Cup 2014 Group F Betting Tips:
Like I said – there’s zero value on Argentina winning the group. 2/9 odds? Not a chance. You have to assume they will win the group too – but time and time again they seem to collapse.
That’s why I like Bosnia and Herzegovina to do the business. They did exceptional during the qualifying stages and just look great. They attack and attack and never give up and have some fantastic players like Dzeko and Ibisevic. You’ve also got a great keeper in Begovic too.
I’d say go with Bosnia and Herzegovina for the safety bet of qualifying, but I think it’s worth betting the winnings of that on Bosnia and Herzegovina actually winning the group. Call me crazy – but I think 6/1 odds is huge value there. They are a team that could cause problems for Argentina. It wouldn’t surprise me, and I think 6/1 is a great value bet.
The other two teams I can’t see causing any troubles. Nigera are good and have some great players but they get overrun in midfield all the time and I can see them resorting to long balls often.
Iran – I dunno, maybe Quieroz took this job because he sees something in them. But I don’t think so. I would love to see them shock the world but not going to happen.
Quick Summary. Absolutely no value on Argentina to win the group at 2/9 odds. Go for the dark horse Bosnia-Herzegovina to win the group, or play it safer and go with them to qualify at 5/6.
